Allows users to create customized tables, graphs and maps with the most current data available.
The Guttmacher Institute announces the launch of its new State Data Center. This new tool allows researchers, advocates, policymakers, journalists and others working on reproductive health issues at the national or state level to build, download and print custom tables, graphs and maps of the most current information available.
The State Data Center includes national- and state-level data, which the user can compare and customize to meet his or her needs. The available data include:
- trends in abortion by state of residence and state of occurrence over the last 30 years;
- trends in teen pregnancy, birth, abortion and miscarriage, by age and race;
- current data on women in need of contraceptive services, women in need of publicly funded services, services available, outcomes averted and expenditures on family planning and other reproductive health services; and
- state policies related to abortion, contraception and minors’ access to services.
The State Data Center is an easy-to-use tool that allows the user to find, display, download or print information and to:
- create a table, comparing up to 12 measures, for all 50 states and the United States as a whole, or select just a few states for comparison;
- generate a trend table of any indicator for all 50 states and the United States as a whole or for a few selected states; create a trend graph of up to three states for comparison;
- make a map of any data or policy indicator;
- view a state-level fact sheet with top-level reproductive health indicators and policies for each state;
- download customized tables to excel; and
- download trend graphs and maps as JPEG files for use in presentations and as graphics.
